Recover ETH stuck in old smart contracts
Bancor launched June 2017 with a then-record $153M ICO and deployed the first-ever automated market maker contracts on Ethereum, inventing bonding curves and liquidity pool tokens before "DeFi" was coined. On July 9, 2018, attackers stole 25,000 ETH (~$12.5M) via a compromised upgrade wallet. This is the legacy ETH wrapper from Bancor's early architecture.
| Range | Addresses | Total |
|---|---|---|
| 1-10 ETH | 29 | 67.89 ETH |
| 0.1-1 ETH | 80 | 23.27 ETH |
| 0.01-0.1 ETH | 104 | 3.51 ETH |
| <0.01 ETH | 91 | 0.2311 ETH |
Forgotten ETH finds and recovers ETH stuck in defunct smart contracts. Thousands of ETH remain locked in old DEXes, NFT marketplaces, ENS auctions, and ICO contracts that shut down years ago. Portfolio trackers don't index these — your ETH is still onchain, it just doesn't show up.
